I realize that over the last year or two I’ve essentially killed off any readership I had here at Rough Draft. There are many reasons for that—although whether they are reasons or excuses is up for debate.
However, in the past couple of months I have been writing more and more…but not on this blog. And I think I know why. I’m avoiding it. Almost everything in my life has been rewritten in the last six months. But this blog is the same. And I think it’s time to do something about it.
It’s time to redesign.
But I’m not sure what I want to do. As in the past I’m going to contract an artist to design some graphics, but what will they be.
So I’m tossing it out to anyone who’s still listening. Anyone have any bright ideas?
Want a different cartoon strip at the top, or something completely different?

I’m open to suggestions, but in my own mind I’m shooting for something completely different.

Well if you are going to higher a graphic artist to help they will probably bring their own ideas to the table. To be honest, a thinner comic at the top would be better since you’ll want to start highlighting your work and the comic takes up most of the space “above the fold”.
Other ideas: horizontal navigation, an easily identifiable spot to find all your published (and free online) work (your portfolio page is hard to navigate as is even though the pictures are cool), delete “Dramatis Personæ” page, update “About” page to include other places where you blog (like Write Anything) and where to find you online (facebook, twitter, nanowrimo, etc).
I hope this helps. Feel free to bug me any time… or tell me to bud-out. 🙂
